Every business has a story. Ours began with three friends sitting together one fall afternoon, talking about our mothers.

As we shared memories, I couldn’t stop thinking about my own mom, Carole.

Growing up, we didn’t have much. My mother always dreamed of owning a Louis Vuitton handbag, but it was simply out of reach. She never had the opportunity to buy one. When she passed away at just 46 years old, I was only 16. For some reason, that stayed with me. It wasn’t really about the handbag—it was about a dream she never had the chance to fulfill.

Years later, while I was in college and certainly didn’t have much money myself, I made what felt like my first true adult purchase. I walked into the Louis Vuitton boutique at Copley Place in Boston and bought the bag my mother had always wanted. In many ways, it was for her as much as it was for me.

Fast forward nearly forty years. I’ve been fortunate to build a successful career as a financial advisor, and today I can afford the luxury items I once only admired. But somewhere along the way, my perspective changed.

Luxury shouldn’t only belong to a select few.

That’s why Clutch High Lux was born.
